Preferential attachment, homophily and, their consequences such as the glassceiling effect have been well-studied in the context of undirected networks . We present a rigoroustheoretical analysis of the Directed Mixed Preferential Attachment model . We use it to analyze the glass ceiling effect in directed networks to shed light on the interplay between the structure and dynamics of various real-world networks . Our analytical results are supported bydetailed numerical results. Finally, we utilize the obtainedanalytical results to characterize the conditions under which the Glass ceiling effect emerge in a directed network.
