The study examined the participation of female students of South EasternNigerian tertiary institutions in Information and Communication Technologies(ICTs) The study discussed the attendant gender divide in ICTs participation . Findings suggest that high cost of ICT and highlevel of male dominance, which made females think that ICT is for males were the major reasons for low female participation . Reducing the cost ofInformation Technology, and parental involvement in their children selection of study were suggested to encourage female participation in Information Technology, as well as reducing ICT costs and encouraging parents to participate in their child’s choice of study . The study also discussed the consequences of not bridging the gender divide and ways of encouraging women participation in Icts .
